Boots on the Ground

The first half of the team arrived safely today. I am eagerly waiting for news and pictures. The first shipment of supplies we sent has all arrived in Irbil. The airline couldnt accept our totes which were all about 95 pounds, we spent an hour at the airport repacking and leaving some supplies behind to get it under the 70 pound limit. The agent was moved by what we were doing and gave us a great discount and wished he could do more. Our next 2 team members are leaving next week and I will be packing up the rest of the supplies and sending them off with them. Please prayer for our team and the team they are partnering with to have a smooth transition. We are also asking God to give them wisdom on what to purchase for the refugees. I have heard that the refugees request food the most. My gosh we have so many things to be grateful for, this is breaking my heart, I know its wrenching many of yours as well.

There has been a huge outpouring of support on this end, many people as we do feel the frustration of not being able to do anything or do more. Looking at the numbers that say half a million refugees are struggling in Irbil makes us feel like we cant even make a dent at some moments but we know that even touching a few lives can have a huge effect. I believe if more people took action like Jeremiah and Toby or my neighbor who helped me carry my groceries in then there would be less members of organizations like Islamic State. Love really is a weapon that disarms and undoes hate/hurt. I pray that our team can look at each person and connect with them and let them know many Americans are holding them in their hearts and we have not forgotten about them. I hope each person they encounter will be encouraged, touched by love in action then go out and encourage their own neighbors. If we cant help all, we still want to help the one.

Please continue to pray for their plight, their memories to be healed, and their hope to be restored. Its being reported that there is a lot of Islamic State movement in the last 3 days so please pray God confuses and confounds the enemy and that the Kurdish Army can take back more ground. Lets also pray for hate that is woven into these ISIS members hearts to be undone and mass desertions from this cruel army.

  1. In reality we are called to fight,it seems that Christian’s are not fighting the good fight but sleeping,May God wake us up with a conscious that is so seared with Love for the list that we will not be able to physically sleep until we do something for our Lord Jesus Christ
